How it works

How does chefstir work?

Simply choose a menu from our various cuisine categories or customize
your very own unique menu, add reservation details, and select a chef that
suites your needs.

When your chef is on the way to your location, they will send you a text
message. 30-45 minutes before the first course is served, your chef will
arrive with fresh ingredients.

Your chef cooks, serves each course, and even cleans up the kitchen
afterwards. Your sole responsability is to eat and enjoy an uninterrupted
mealwith your guests.

What do i need in my kitchen?

Its doesn't take much to ChefStir. All you need is a functional stove, running
water, dinnerware, and these standart kitchen items:
A. Sauce Pots & Sauce Pans
B. Baking Sheet
C. Mixing Bowl or Whiskbowl
D. Cutting Board
E. Basic Tools (Tongs, knives, spatula, serving spoon)
F. Paper Towel
G. Cutlery (Enough for all Guests/Courses)
H. Plates (Enough for all Courses)
I. Bowls (Enough for Specific Courses)
J. Basic Condiments (Pepper, Salt, etc)
K. Full Grill Setup & Fuel (Propane)

Note: ChefStir does not provide dinnerware. Please have plates, bowls,
silverware, and serving platters/bowls for larger parties ready to to go.

Does ChefStir provide
dinnerware?

Hosts must supply all dinnerware for dinner events.

Served or family style?

We suggest that for groups of 12 or more your dinner be served family style
by your chef. If you have a strong preference for one or the other you can
request it in advance with your chef.

Can I change my dinner event
details after booking?

You can edit your event details, including start time and headcount, in your
ChefStir account up until the day of your dinner. For same-day requests,
contact support@chefstir.com

Please note: We may not be able to accommodate day-of changes.

How many diners can ChefStir
accommodate?

ChefStir can accommodate all needs and sizes.

Regardless of party size, there is a minimum spend requirement of $150.

If your total does not meet the minimum spend requirement at checkout,
you will be charged the minimum of $150.

The menu

What's on the menu?

Our Executive Chef develops seasonal menus in collaboration with local
chefs. The ingredients are organic, sustainable, and sourced from local
purveyors.

The menus rotate on a monthly basis featuring the freshest seasonal
ingredients that are locally sourced when available.

Special diets?

Diners with special diets can substitute our seasonal farmer's market menu
for their meal -- gluten-free, vegan, and delicious.

Customization?

ChefStir is the first platform to give the Host 100% control to choose
custom ingredients and challenge our chefs to create an adventurous
experience for their guests.

Once you have submitted a custom reservation our chefs will reach out to
you with their very own unique full course crafted menu options to win your
heart and secure the experience.

Chef's Choice:This is an option which allows the chef to curate a blind
course to surprise you and your guests.

Kid's menus?

Tasty and healthful meals are available for $9 for children under 10.

Can you switch out specific
parts of the menu?

Hosts cannot substitute courses on the pre-fixed menus, but we do
accommodate dietary restrictions.

However, if a Host decides to build a custom menu they will have 100%
control over each course ingredient.

The chef

Who will be my chef?

You will have access to a list of various local chefs that are interested
in executing your reservation. You will be able to select the chef that suites
your needs based on your reservation.

ChefStir chefs come from all sorts of culinary backgrounds. All ChefStir
chefs have been fully vetted.

What does the chef do?

The chef prepares a delicious meal including starter(s), entrée, and dessert.
The chef will serve and explain each course, wash the dishes, and clean up
the kitchen.

How can I communicate with
the chef?

Once you have selected your chef you will immediately be connected
and can discuss any details regarding your reservation by using our internal
messing system.

Does the chef clean?

Yes. The chef cooks, serves, and cleans.
Please make sure your dishwasher is empty before they arrive.

day-of timeline

What do I need to do?

You'll need to let the chef in when they arrive and make sure the sink and
dishwasher are empty. You should also set the table and prepare for your
guests.

Make sure you have enough dinnerware for the amount of courses you have
selected for the meal.

When does the chef arrive?

Your chef will arrive generally 45 to 30 minutes before the listed start time.
The dinner start time is when you can expect the first course on the table.
When your chef is on the way to your location, they will send you a text
message updating you on their status.

My chef is late, what do I do?

When your chef is on the way to your location, you'll receive a text message
updating you on their status and a number to contact your chef. Chefs are
very rarely late, but if they do encounter heavy traffic, they will call or text
to let you know.

What if something goes wrong,
does ChefStir have a guarantee?

ChefStir is backed by multi-million dollar insurance coverage that protects you and your home.

Auction guidelines

How do I create a reservation
auction for chefs to bid on?

This feature is only available for CUSTOM menu reservations.

Is there a minimum requirement?

Yes. There is a minimum spend requirement of $150 for all dinner
reservations.

If your total does not meet the minimum spend requirement at checkout,
you will be charged the minimum of $150.

We provide several fantastic hors d'oeuvres you can choose from to reach
the required minimum. You can also increase your party size.

Is there a maximum?

Not at all. ChefStir can accommodate all needs and sizes.

Feel free to reach out to support@chefstir.com if you have
any questions or concerns about setting up a reservation for
large scale events.

When does the auction end?

All auctions end 72 hours before the reservation start time. Once the
auction has ended you will have 24 hours to select a chef and submit
payment to officially confirm the reservation.

You will not be able to use this feature for last minute reservations. If you
need an express/last minute reservation we have an array of 4 course
pre-fixed menus to choose from.

Please note: You do not have to wait until the auction ends to select a chef.
You may select a chef at anytime during the auction.

Can I choose the duration of the auction?

Yes you can submit the auction as far out as you like but we suggest to
keep the auction duration no longer than 5 days due to the fact that most
chefs typically will wait until the auction is ending to provide a competitive
bid.

How do I select a chef?

Once you have listed your custom reservation for auction you will receive
email notifications when you receive a new bid or message from our chefs.

You can also log in to your profile account at anytime and view all of the
bids that have been submitted.

How do I confirm and pay?

Reservation requests must be paid in full within 24 hours of the selection of
your chef to be officially confirmed.

If you choose the SPLIT-THE-CHECK feature with your guests, please make
sure to remind your guests of the 24 hour payment deadline to secure your
official confirmation.

What if I have to cancel the auction reservation?

You can cancel your reservation auction up until 48 hours the day before
your reservation start time free of charge.

Cancelations 24 hours before reservation start time will be subject to 50%
of the full payment.

Same-day cancellations are subject to full payment.

When do i pay

your chef to be officially confirmed.

If you choose the SPLIT-THE-CHECK feature with your guests, please make
sure to remind your guests of the 24 hour payment deadline to secure your
official confirmation.

While tipping is neither required nor expected, if you would like tip your
chef, you and your guests may feel free to do so as you wish.

The day after your dinner, you will receive an email to submit feedback
about your experience.

ChefStir Cancellation Policy?

You can cancel your dinner reservation up until 48 hours the day before
your reservation start time free of charge.

Cancelations 24 hours before reservation start time will be subject to 50%
of the full payment.

Same-day cancellations are subject to full payment.

How do I apply my credit to my dinner event?

Your account credit will be applied automatically to the final charge
for your dinner event.

If you have a promotional code, gift card or voucher which has not yet been
claimed, then there will be a place for you to enter in a code at checkout
when you book your dinner.

Please note: Promotional codes and account credit cannot be applied
to gift card purchases.

Can ChefStir split the check among guests?

You can SPLIT-THE-CHECK with your guests by entering their email(s)
during the checkout process. Your guests will receive a PayPal invoice
in their inbox where they can complete the transaction
using PayPal or credit card.

What are my payment options?

All payments are made securely through PayPal, so you don't need cash on
the day of your dinner event. PayPal accepts all major credit cards.

can I increase my headcount?

Yes! To add guests just send an email to support@chefstir.com
with 24 hours of your reservation.

will be subject to 50% of the full payment.
